George, we could have both (that is what the original Dec. 29th scenario was contemplating, particularly if the Iraqi affair is delayed to the Autumn, as I suggested in December.)

I think Jeff, despite his arrogant nature, is onto the action here...We need a test. We should pass this first run barring an unforeseen disaster. Perhaps 1400 is in the cards this spring...Maybe even 1500 will hold...The test will embolden and a summer run back to 1800 will soften us up for the big break...That break should run into next year to new lows...This, in my opinion, will complete the first bear leg.

At some point next year we will begin a two year bull market...still within the confines of a bear. As such we will not see any new highs...
