People in overcrowded places are usually very friendly. They are so out of a need not clash to each other. The Asians are like that.
I lived in Indonesia -Java Island and arrived Bangkok Thailand last week.
If your theory would be correct, in Java Island -where 80% of the Indonesian population lives- would be going to each other throats. But that's not so.

They are fighting each other in the least populated provinces Kalimantan (former Borneo and Sumatra) just in case you write there is trouble there.

The insecurity is psychological. Note that you can put in Australia India, Mexico populations and there would still e left a lot of place for the kangaroos.

Of course an Australia would whine: There's not enough water bla bla bla. But put this people there and they will find a way. That because brain power is a very very rare commodity. Among 15 to 20 million people there is not much brain power to make use of. But if you look to a mass of 1 billion people, there is brain power enough to solve the problems presented. One of the reasons that the US always have got immigrants is that among the mass of ordinary poor people, they got the few brains available elsewhere.
