Let's say the wind (a "Blind force"") blows and causes the striker to make contact with a bell, causing it to ring. What is the cause,the "reason" (by your definition) behind the blowing of the wind? The effect of the moon's gravitational pull on the oceans? What is the "reason" behind this cause? Is it caused by the centrifugal force of the earth's gravitational pull which keeps the moon in its orbit? What is the "reason" behind this . . .deconstruct ad infinitum.

I have prima facie evidence of my thesis:the world as we observe it in every conscious, lucid moment.
