Didn't we see something similar leading into April 2000? My point is that the public perception will be that AG was a hero and that the market crashed despite his best efforts.

My perception is that the mania was primarily a liquidity driven mania (ostensibly to address Y2K concerns) and that the bubble can be traced to the fed policy as can the subsequent popping of the bubble.

obviously many people on SI recognize the Fed's role in all of this, but I believe that what is important to AG is that many history books will give him credit for the "economic strength" of the 90s and not give him the credit for the subsequent bear.
