Ask this Roach to come over here.

Funny stuff that "modem" myth, just because the early, american modems of rockwell and motorola
were just fine tuned for american, what were they, "conditioned lines", just as funny as "rake receivers".

Or maybe he just has another lousy modem, not preset to deal nor dial with any other dial tones than those
6-10 used in USA, especially the ones found at PABXes of hotels??

Or maybe he never understood the magic of AT-commands, another funny patented thing, famous on the
littered road of bankruptcies and desperate law suits. (the magic of +++)

Who knows, he maybe even did not have the right plug adapter with him, I hope he did not got major damage
by fooling around with 240V (probably not, because the laptops are mainly done in Japan)

Ilmarinen

Funny stuff, that 56kbps of USA, and the 64kbps of yurope, not to forget that habit of stealing some additional
bits from the 56kbps stream, making a regular 56kbps modem dropping down to 33.6kbps and then, if it
fails safely, to 19.2, and once again, lousy code, to 9.6kbps but little hope of Bell103 which works even in romania
or through some cow fences in Texas.

Hmm, did he get connected with his AMPS-DAMPS handset, did he even manage to recharge it??
