Seems to me that if the Goombahs are really going to tank this market, they're going to have to do it between now and early October (probably May to early June) time frame. I say this because tech spending although still a disaster, should really begin to slowly ramp up by the end of this year to early 2003. Now, the Goombahs (Big Money), should begin buying ahead of this increased tech spending curve. That would mean they generally due so about 6 MONTHS ahead of this occurring (which would mean a REAL bottom) by early June. Only fly in the ointment would be an invasion of IRAQ or some other unforseen calamity. Another reason for low in the next month would be the quick clean up of accounting standards among US companies. It has already occurred this quarter with many thousands of companies (leading to IBM's and GE's shortfalls). Once we get some time with this issue behind us, Big Money will once again feel its safe to invest again. Worst case scenario is we have a double bottom in the market in September or October. The Bear Market would be about 30 months old by then, which would be supassed in length only by the Great Bear Market of 1929-1932!!!
