1. Glanced at the article, but pigeon holes don't interest me much. I'm not a Republican or Democrat either.

2. I am both depending on circumstances and the stock. I am NOT a super short-term scalper, if that helps to understand my approach. I consider my style careful portfolio management.

3. I update my portfolio weekly on the 50% Gains thread; feel free to check there (usually Saturdays) to see if I still hold all ten.

This approach will not produce the 100%+ returns Hal had buying the bottom in September. But it might outdo Hal in a flat, sideways market like we have had since December.

To sum up, I never categorize myself in only one camp, and I don't think any single approach can be totally discredited provided it is implemented well.

The problem with LTBH now is that most investors are still buying and holding the stocks that blew up in the bear market.

If you want an interesting exercise, calculate the average trailing PE in those ten holdings while most index stocks saw earnings crash and burn.
