Steve,

There are quite a few companies now with FWH certification including Winbond and STMicro.. it doesn't seem to have affected SST however, as they currently have >70% of this market.

Yeh said on the most recent teleconference, that this business tends to be based on long term relationships.. ie, if companies start working with a particular company, such as SST, then it tends to be long term.

Whether this is true or not, is anyone's guess, but for what it's worth, my anecdotal research has shown this 70% figure to be true.. and what's more interesting is that next generation reference boards, such as AMD's Opteron "Solo" boards and Intel's upcoming Itanium and P4 boards have had SST flash on board.

I'm personally confident in this aspect of SST's business. The more pressing concern in my mind is this Atmel civil suit.

all the best, docpaul
