the new high list is where I harvest new candidates as well. Actually, one principle I have been using is to harvest that list (from the Naz and NYSE) only when the new high list gets under about 60, it is a "purifying crucible".

Buying the last new high is always a risk (though sometimes a temporary setback only as the stock pulls back, then moves to a new high). I weed the New High list with my value criteria and buy very selectively.

The downside of that approach is not buying stocks that are going up even though they don't meet Dale Baker's particular standards. That doesn't stop some from going up more anyway.
