FWIW, many years ago, Siemens tried to buy Qcom, but a deal could never be made. At least that's what i was told by a Siemens employee.

If GE can't buy Honeywell and Worldcom can't buy Sprint because the European Commission vetoes it, I think we need to be very careful and suspicious of allowing any European company to buy anything leading edge in this country. I am very uncomfortable with the heads-I-win, tales-you-lose situation that is developing with the European commission.
