Oh good, another dismissive agnostic/atheist. Just what this thread needs.

I find it difficult to believe that a god would want worship from inferior whiney human beings. What's the point? God is omnipotent and knows it.
I wondered that too.

Actually, I think he was bored. We're the entertainment. He's laughing his *** off and wonders why he didn't think of this before.

Good point it seems kind of irrational and wimpy of God to want this.

"I find it difficult to believe that a god would want worship from inferior whiney human beings. What's the point? God is omnipotent and knows it."</>

Maybe try it this way. God gave us the ability to pray and worship because it is good for us and God is a benevolent creator. Wants are a specific form of needs. Omnipotence places God above needs. We need strength in our souls so we pray and worship to obtain strength. God does not need us to pray.

Your note speaks of a "god." Let us assume there is only one and God was lost in eternity alone. During God's solitary eternity, he developed a quirk or two and humankind was created during one of these quirky episodes. That would explain our imperfections. Even with our imperfections, God needs us and our prayers to keep him company. Considering his past bout with solitary eternity, God views us as better than nothing. We need God because we want to join him in eternity--considering the alternative. There you have it, a match made in heaven.
