re: PS ratios on financial...don't really know. took the figures from yahoo, who gets stats from 'Market Guide' which resolves to 'Multex Investor'. but you raise a very good point: what are financial institutions selling? loans, i think. how are valuations of loans assessed? quality of collateral. what would be the largest class of collatoral? real estate? which begs the question: are the current class of loans valuable enough to offset the older, tech class, which has, to some undetermined extent, crashed off the books? don't know.
