big problem Zack fellow, those numbers are a measure of Ameritrade online traders. Thus those numbers are NOT cause for confidence.

Ameritrade Index: I'm not sure that Ameritrade online traders qualify as "smart money", but it would be interesting to study this data for a year or so to see how it correlates with Market movements. What was it showing near the Sept 21st lows? What was it showing at the early January highs? That would help one understand how/if it can be useful.
