yeah well, notice how I didn't try to draw that particular conclusion? :-)

Actually, I would like to see a longer term chart before I did try to reach a real conclusion, but I do think that it is the fed's constant tinkering with money supply that has cause the tremendous volatility in the market.

In this post, I refer to the fed's actions being like a driver that oversteers while in a skid. (I couldn't find the original reference, but this gives an idea)
