As General Pervez Musharraf's referendum canvassing concluded with his last public meeting in Karachi on Sunday, the officially sponsored campaign turned out to be unparalleled in the context of its magnitude and enormity in some respects in Pakistan's recent history. That speaks volumes about where the silent majority wanted to go, it was never with Osama or his cohorts it was moderation, tomorrow the President is going to get a huge 'yes' from 25-30 million people out of total of 55m eligible, the people who cast votes in Pakistan are only 50-65% of the total those who will cast will give 'yes' to his policies. Those policies include Saudi or US forces in my country pursuing Alqaeda, which other Islamic country Egypt or even Turkey as closest of allies have stood the test of ballot box to ensure support their pro-US policy. This is the new Pakistan and holding her hand and saving her from annihilation and self-mutilation was a great act of diplomacy and brinkman ship of Bush. He won an ally and people of that country too. Those who condemned my country as 'failed nation' and called that Pakistan will implode as a result of anti Talebin policy should see how things have changed. The world will see that tomorrow in an unprecedented display of street power and ballot box power the myth of ‘Osama and Omar’ will be laid to rest by my nation, a nation which was hijacked by few handful of extremists sets itself free tomorrow and thanks to President Bush for doing it for us. Thank you for understanding, thank you for not equating my nation with failed states of the region, today US has an ally where FBI is routing out nest of terrors and so are US marines in so far inhospitable terrains of Maliks in tribal areas where even British could not have ventured. The US forces are working in Parachinar and if Osama is around he will be found in hole soon like Abu Zubayda. The internal defence of a nation comes by strengthening the external defence that is what this administration has done, that is what the previous administration was sleeping on.
