re:<Enron... Intel next?> This is not a fair comparison. Enron had hidden liabilities, Intel does not. There is nothing that could happen to one of Intel's acquisitions that could suddenly require a cash payment.

The only risk of holding a large amount of goodwill, is that some time in the future, most likely not until a semi revovery is well underway, Intel may have to take some writeoffs which will reduce their reported earnings. But it will not affect their cash flow in the least.
