11:53 am ET Providian Fin drops as consumers fall behind on credit card payments (PVN) 6.76 -0.64: PVN (-8.4%) is continuing to hit fresh lows this session, perhaps hit by a USA Today column this morning saying that affluent consumers are falling behind on credit card bills, pushing late payments to the highest level in nearly 5 years and losses from uncollectable debt to an 11-year high. Other credit card co's in the red today include COF (-4.0%), HI (-2.5%), and AXP (-1.5%); KRB is up fractionally.
