I have cable too-

BTW to make either work optimally you have to tweak the operating system since as
shipped no OS is optimized for broadband speeds. Its amazing the speed diff once you do
this. I've seen people who had cable who were getting speeds around ISDN speed, after I
employed tweaks they were immediately 3 to 4 times faster. That and turning off the
stupid proxy servers


How does a non-techie do all that? Is it easy to explain? -g-

Grace, great post. I will have to look into the site that you mention a couple of responses down the thread.

(the one that gives the broadband tweaking advice.)
