I think the message may be gold is going to catch its breath. Taking profits might be a good idea, going short is definitely a bad idea. As a posted a few days ago, I took profit in my options, but have held on to everything else. I have been looking for a chance to get into minefinders but it just won't stop or react. I am about to make it go down. I know it will if I throw in the towel and buy. :)
