george will is clueless. free trade is a liberal ideology, not a conservative one.

If that's true then perhaps I am not a conservative. Liberal or conservative its a good idea.

Is "true conservativism" then more like, umm, Buchanan?

Count me off the Conservative list then. Protectionism is good for the Populist trash rabble rousers and AFLCIO votes, its lousy economics.
