Grace, this is actually a very important consideration with techs. Things are moving so fast that businesses don't have an opportunity to either achieve an ROI or depreciate the equipment adequately. There are Class 4 and Class 5 switches that have been installed and generating pure economic profit for the service providers longer than CSCO has been a company. Coupled with the fact that you give up the reliability and availability that is inherent in a stable un-upgraded system and you get a bunch of gunshy procurement departments.
