SGI Chooses Legato for Protection and Management of Business-Critical Information Worldwide
Legato products to protect and manage 18 terabytes daily for world's leading provider of high performance computing
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 29, 2002-- Legato Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:LGTO - news), a worldwide leader in enterprise storage management software, today announced that SGI (NYSE:SGI - news), provider of SGI® advanced visualization, high-performance computing and complex data management solutions, has selected Legato NetWorker® products exclusively to protect and manage information throughout SGI's 35 facilities worldwide. Legato products will protect and manage an average of 18 terabytes of data daily at SGI.

SGI will utilize Legato NetWorker Power Edition; NetWorker Power Edition Storage Nodes; Legato NetWorker Modules for Oracle, Sybase, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL; and Legato Open File Manager to protect its business-critical information. Legato GEMS Console will be used to manage the information. In addition to SGI selecting NetWorker products for internal company needs, SGI also resells NetWorker to its creative and technical customers for backup protection and management as part of its complex data management solution portfolio.
