As a matter of fact, Israeli- Arabs enjoy more political freedom than their compatriots in the Arab world, and a higher standard of living. But they have lost "face", in that Israel has been so much more successful than the Arab states, and has even managed to hold the Arab world at bay, militarily. The Arabs have a "shame" culture. Basically, they feel that Israel has shamed them. Remember, this is a place where it still makes sense to a lot of people to kill daughters if they have been caught having an affair......
