Tommaso: Man, I am glad you made it through that "mine field" period. I know I felt like "Alice in Wonderland" through the whole piece. For decades the trick had been to be a bit ahead of the crowd in spotting emerging problems, then all of a sudden, doing that became a prescription for being raped and pillaged as the whole world simply quit caring about fundamentals. It wasn't fun, and a large group of very fine guys were destroyed by it. I felt lucky just to have made it through, as I am sure must be a shared feeling at your end. It was a period which, as I noted a couple of years ago, "we will tell our grandchildren about this madness, and they will be blameless when they find it hard to believe us". Best, Earlie
