You may be correct, but from what we've seen of reported 1x handset selling prices (particularly Korea), they can stand a 1x $35 chipset.

But if the blended ASP of 1x chips is already coming down, despite newer chips with greater functionality being introduced, it doesn't bode well for increasing QCT revenues going forward. In fact, they're likely to flatten off or even drift downwards. In which case, to increase EPS, they have to trim expenses, not easy when they're in the middle of an intensive R&D effort to get the MSM 6xxx series out.

Not a good omen IMO. Means we have to wait for the "big" volumes promised by WCDMA before we see significant increase in revenues/earnings, and organic (non GSM derived) CDMA growth alone won't be enough for the next few years.

Which means I have to rethink my LTB&H position, and maybe trade the entire holding on the TA.
