I'm talking about the more liberal Protestant churches, where a wrong is not wiped out by a few minutes in the confessional and a jaunt around the Rosary.

And yes, it's about time for another Reformation, I'd say.

Uh, check back on the history of your church. The inquisition and witchcraft for example. Confessing to them would save you from being burned alive, but not from death.

Actually usually it would save you from death, unless you confessed and recanted and then went back to your "heretical beliefs".
