again i agree...
i only use the vix as one indicator among many...
the market is way overvalued in some sectors still as sector rotation comtinues to make the overall average look not too bad...
i had really started shorting about when vix dropped below 20...partially by accident as stocks alos happened to have had a decent run-up and were asking to be putted :)
on the flip side i wont cover until i think these stocks have dropped a significant amount but if the vix really spikes i may cover and then reshort at some point....
i guess with intermediate/long term puts a better strategy would be to just hold for the homerun rather than trade in and out
