Re: Junk Bond Investments. From my perspective, QCOM's recent entry into the high yield bond market will not be reported as part of QSI, nor be managed by QCOM as others have suggested. Cash and equivalents are part of "Other, Reconciling Items". The below taken from QCOM's most recent 10Q, dated 4/24/02. Marketable Securities Marketable securities are comprised of certificates of deposit, commercial paper, U.S. government securities, corporate bonds, mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities and equity securities that are publicly traded. During the second quarter of fiscal 2002, the Company allocated $300 million to institutional portfolio managers for investment in non-investment grade securities. At March 31, 2002, $273 million was invested primarily in corporate bonds with credit ratings of B/ B2 and BB/ Ba2.
