Let me rephrase that: in EU there's one single currency. Named euro. In Europe there's one single (capital, job, housing ...) market in the making. In US there's (another) one single currency, called US$. One single market, trying to include CDN and Mexico etc (ignoring some political slips of tongue)

In between, anything goes.
