IBM Ups Dividend, OK's Stock Buyback

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Reuters) - International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM - news) on Tuesday said its board raised the quarterly dividend 7 percent and authorized the repurchase of up to $3.5 billion in stock.

IBM has increased the quarterly dividend seven times since 1996, representing a total increase of 140 percent.

The Armonk, New York-based computer maker declared the cash dividend at the start of its annual meeting in Louisville, Kentucky. The dividend of 15 cents per common share is payable June 10 to stockholders of record May 10.
