Nfld's history, which is actually in a book, is a history of the government and its friends screwing the people and using the federal government to supply the welfare money. The combined government policies have created an unreal economy. the real economy there can only support about one-third of the population. The transfer payments have maintained the population base unrealistically high. In the meantime the elite class have pilfered the resource base and become very rich to the detriment of the people, sort of like a cold and wet Argentina. Processing ore is not going to solve the problem but only delay the issue that the economy needs fewer people in my view.

Are the BC mills subsidized or not? One way to find out is to tender the logs for open bids by any country. We don't want special treatment with respect to your resources. Japan might be a buyer too. We just want everybody to pay the same price under freeeeeee trade. What is the government afraid of?
