Dells are purchased by individuals. Cell phone technology is determined by governments and big corporations.

consumers are hardly the only ones who buy Dells. if you look at how Dell is organized, you will see they are divided up according to customer type (actually, a fairly innovative approach in the puter world). so they have a consumer division, a large corporate accounts division, a small business division, a government division, etc.

btw, who makes up "governments and big corporations" if not "individuals". and if individual antisemitism is the reason why the Europeans are lukewarm to QCOM overtures, wouldn't you expect to see this pattern of prejudice play out in individual purchases as well (perhaps more so, since one does not have to satisfy some politically correct oversight committee)? or is it only the individuals who happen to be the cellular technology decisionmakers that are antisemitic?

So they are adopting WCDMA, a less efficient, late (by several years) technology so they can....... pay the same royalties.

it is amazing after all these years that QCOM fans have never tried to look at this issue from the other side's perspective. they just watch the stock go down and blame it on the Europeans...always "somebody else".
