Nope, I think legal representation should be provided at taxpayer expense. Nuts. You got yourself into it, you get out. Let me note, however, that current law provides a public defender. So no change is required again. You're on your way to being a conservative. :-) But then again, I have no trouble with paying taxes. Suppose your tax bill was twice what it is? 3X? 4X? Is it still OK? Because you keep adding duties, services, welfare, you get there. One way or another. Another way out is LBJ's way: put it on the credit card. Then you get inflation.
