Andreas,

BTW, strange that Jerry said only two weeks ago (at the CC) that AMD had still the performance lead.

I don't think he said, at least not clearly. He said something about Intel being a lot more competitive now. He did say something about the highest performance servers, which is really stretching it.

Joe

LIfe inside the Jerry Sanders Reality Distortion Field

"BTW, strange that Jerry said only two weeks ago (at the CC) that AMD had still the performance lead. And now he says Intel is ahead of AMD. Intel didn't release any new processors since then..."

This is normal inside the Jerry Sanders Reality Distortion Field.

"AMD will soon regain the performance lead. I know I told you a few weeks ago we had the lead. That statement is inoperative. But we will soon be ahead of Intel!" [today]

"With this new chip, AMD will pull ahead of Intel. Yes, I know I told you at the last meeting that we were ahead, but this time I really, really mean it." [a few months ago, inside the JSRDF.]

"AMD is kicking Intel's butt. We are much more profitable and we have 40% of the market. Intel is evil, evil, I tell you! They will never again outperform us!" [last year, inside the JSRDF.]

"World-class yields." [inscribed over the door to the Jerry Sanders Reality Distortion Field.]
