Those girls will suffer social opprobrium if they aren't mutilated. This is a fact. Social opprobrium is extremely cruel and painful. Many parents subject their daughters to this practice to avoid the pain to their child and their family of social opprobrium. What must happen in such countries and situations is that people must come to understand how cruel this is, and that each person, each girl, should have a right fully to live as the sexual being she is without paying the price of social opprobrium.
