"You must be looking at trailing earnings."

No kiddin'. That was obvious. So if the forward P/E is mentioned in a note, one can't raise the subject of the trailing P/E? Heaven forbid that we should look at actual earnings instead of estimated earnings when considering the lure of gold.

In any case, it depends on time frame. I wasn't looking at HGMCY over the next 12 months.

And believe it or not, the sell signals for HGMCY did not occur today, so there was no need for "hindsight TA." The resistance levels didn't appear today, either. Look at a MurreyMath-type chart, and you'll see where it was likely to meet strong resistance. Or look at Donchian channels and Bollinger bands. The gaps during the uptrend didn't appear today, either. And MACD didn't cross under the 0 line today. And stochastics didn't just cross under 70 today. Take a look at -DI, too -- in hindsight, if you insist.

But whatever. Fire away.

usually, the full-year trailing EPS and P/E reported in the Yahoo profile and other marketguide-sourced data differ from those found in Yahoo research which is Zacks-sourced. There's a reporting lag, and there may also be the difference in Zack's/First Call using pro forma and Marketguide using a different basis eps. The eps report is updated weekly. Profiles may be monthly and probably doesn't reflect the April reports for many.
