Actually, there were some very positive events reported in the NY Times. The Saudis will pressure Arafat while Bush will pressure Sharon. Arafat is more a threat to the Saudis than he is to Israel. The monarchy, which is imbedded in middle-age religious/tribal laws cannot handle the secular radicalism that Arafat appeals to. Also, bear in mind that the Saudis are, thru the Carlyle group in business bed with the Bushes. (Go to Google and look up the Carlyle group.) Therefore, when it was speculated that the Saudis were firm with W and may use the oil weapon, it was ludicrous political posturing. However, keep in mind that Saudis (not the Kingdom) were the folks who brought us 9/11.
