Your state may have an agricultural Extension Office or something similar. This is the sort of problem an extension agent is trained in, and he's not trying to sell you anything. Or if you have a local college or university with a biology department, drop in there and check it out. Or maybe your state has a master garderner's program, as ours does, or something similar. Or a local environmental office. I'm betting you could get objective advice not from a shop trying to sell you poisons if you looked around.
