Yep, I remember the 'start of year bounce' trade on EMC well, it went from 13.40 to 17.40 in four days when I sold, and has been cut in half since. The market seems to be voting with the cheaper storage selling NTAP's of the world right now. I do think their will be a 'floor' under EMC not much lower than it is now because cash rich techs like Dell are eyeing it... As for JDSU, I have no idea when the 'true' upturn comes, but as a trading play or hold I think the odds are getting better for the long side as at some point just the expectation of a recovery results in a quick double of the stock. I have a contrarian streak in me, so now that everyone really hates telecom perhaps it might be time to start looking... Stocks like Dell have less risk, but my response to Sig was in regard to his comment on looking for larger gains.

John
