Larry,
Hi!!
RE: My experience tells me that one should never underestimate the opposition. Time will tell how the merger plays out. In the meantime, Dell had better monitor the progress made by Cpq/Hwp and be prepared to take action as the situation requires.

Absolutely...And, I'm quite sure that this vision has been discussed looooooong before CPQ/HWP even announced the possibility of a merger...I believe the lack of hubris is one of the strongest personal characteristics Michael possesses...I will always admire the champion who puts foot on the line of confidence/cocky...But never crosses it...
Let's talk about printers:

1. What would you suppose would be the affect on HWP/CPQ if DELL moved into the only profitable business they now have?
2. What leverage would this place on the other hardware/service possibilities?

Interesting how history has a way of coming back to hit you in the back of the head...It was these very tactics of leveraging high margin products against DELL's desktops when DELL was first making a move into the hardware business...
I "KNOW" DELL is very interested in printers...Cause again for my imagination...

Best, Kemble
