Na, I don't think the consumer recession will be particularly severe, there is still a lot of momentum out there, the following recession (probably just before the end of 2004) might be worse, much worse, but that is quite early for such an assessment, it is more based on the very broad observation that after a long prosperity the first relapse is not very severe (economically, not the equity side), subsequent relapses start to engrain conservatism in the consumer and that make subsequent relapses more severe, IMTO.

Dale, Still got CSCO on your radar screen? Still see it as the short term turning point on the Nasdaq....but only if the earnings are at low end of estimates and so is guidance.
The market should sell off ahead of the EPS numbers and turn after the report. That is my plan for now...but of course plans can change before then...depending upon how things unfold in the next few days.
