Besides other strange analysis this Fisk has, his parallel between France/Algeria and Israel/Palestine is not valid :

1/ French to Arab population was 15% 85%
Israel to Arab population is 80% 20 %

2/ The Frenchmen had some other place to go, France for instance. Israelis have now here to go.

3/ Algeria was a pure colony since 1832. The French never was an historical connection to that land, never prayed "next year in the Sahara" like Jews did, possibly too much. Or too long ?

4/ The surfaces cannot be compared as the whole Israel is hardly more than 1% of Algeria, and there is no oil or gaz.

5/ As for the casualties, Nadine replied.

6/ Pals do not cut throats. Nor genitals. Israelis do not massacre.

7/ The war inAlgeria lasted 6 years, in Is/Pal 54, and going up.
