Mattson Technology Appoints New Vice Presidents
Dr. Bijan Moslehi and Gregg Lakritz Strengthen Mattson Team
FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 6, 2002--Mattson Technology (Nasdaq:MTSN - news), today announced the appointment of Dr. Bijan Moslehi, 47, as the new vice president of technology & strategic marketing for the Wet Products Division and Gregg Lakritz, 41, as the company's new vice president of finance and corporate controller. Lakritz, whose responsibilities will include development of the company's accounting policies and financial strategies, will report directly to Ludger Viefhues, Mattson's chief financial officer. In his newly created position, reporting to Wet Products Division President, David Ferran, Dr. Moslehi is tasked with managing the division's long-term strategic business development plans and identifying emerging markets and technologies.

Lakritz, who has over 17 years of finance and accounting experience in the semiconductor industry, joins Mattson from KLA-Tencor, where he most recently served as director of accounting and assistant corporate controller. Prior to KLA, Lakritz was group controller for the technology and memory products groups at Cypress Semiconductor. Lakritz also spent over 8 years at Intel, where he held various accounting and finance management roles. One of Lakritz' primary focus areas at Intel included building complex financial models to optimize manufacturing decisions. Lakritz, who is a certified public accountant, holds an MBA in finance from the University of Wisconsin (Madison, Wisconsin) and a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where he graduated suma cum laude.
Dr. Moslehi, an 18-year industry veteran, also joins Mattson from KLA-Tencor Corp, where he was most recently vice president of 300 mm Process Module Control Technology & Strategic Marketing. While at KLA, Dr. Moslehi was responsible for evaluation of 300 mm technology transition and its impact on process control and led the development of novel product concepts for 300 mm litho process module control. Prior to KLA, Dr. Moslehi served as director of the Process Technology Group & San Jose Pilot Line fab manager at Philips Semiconductors/VLSI Technology, Inc. (San Jose, Calif.). Dr. Moslehi also held management and technical positions in engineering groups at Hewlett-Packard, National Semiconductor, Fairchild Semiconductor and Applied Materials, Inc. Dr. Moslehi received a bachelor's degree in engineering from Arya-Mehr University of Technology (Tehran, Iran) and two masters and one doctorate degree in engineering from Stanford University, where he graduated suma cum laude.
