Yup, when GPS (for 911) is available, my wife gets a new phone and my 12 and 14 year-old get one too. Me, I'll wait until 1X and GPS. (Still have my Thinphone, and there's really not been much reason to upgrade it.) If they really market the 911 feature of the GPS phones properly, they'll be an avalanche of purchasers. Picture an ad showing a frightened woman in a broken down car on a dark street, while a car pulls up behind to "help." Ads like this will really pull in upgrades and new users. If they don't make edgy commercials like that, you know how it is, no one will have any idea it's available.
