Wireless Facilities gets boost from pact, outlook (WFII) by Michael Baron
Wireless Facilities (WFII) is adding 63 cents, or 13.9 percent, to $5.15, after the San Diego provider of wireless networking services projected a "very substantial" loss for the first quarter but said it believes new contracts will translate to improvement in the second quarter. Citing continued customer slowdowns and postponements, the company forecast the first-quarter loss on revenue of about $40 million. But for the second quarter, it sees positive EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) in the second quarter with sequential revenue growth of 5 percent. It also announced a long-term deal with Bechtel.
