this was thresholdingtrading pre-open comments for yesterday--but i think pertinent<<May 1 pre-open: Relatively weak short covering rally started today.......could last a day or 2 but keep in mind, we remain in downtrends and the last two short covering bounces took the NDX composite up 14% in Feb and 6% in April (other indices / sectors had differing results but the point is that the bounces have been smaller as time goes on), therefore, this can only be viewed as a bounce in the middle of a downtrend>>

Taiwan being down may have something to do with the MU/Hynix deal falling through.
