In fact, many influential American firms are seeing their cos. flounder due to the strong dollar and want it to weaken.

Corporation pros and con: the pro is less exterior development and more costly labor, which are both positive for growth here.

The con debt that has been acquired with external growth will require more US dollars to pay back.

Since the major holders are Japan and China, I can't see where Republicans would shed any tears if they got stuck holding the bag for the buck

Now for sure lots of poots on gold.VBG

KT re:<Backing with a PM is 19th Century and we'll never see that again>, thanks for your thoughts. I thought Standard Oil-type monopolies and usurious banking practices were also 19th century but they seem to have made a comeback <g/ng>. (not to mention the old fashioned propaganda techniques of a united media)

I'm aware there are many benefits to a weaker $, but can't help think of how much fun the street could have jerking both dollar and gold traders around till exhausted - oh wait a minute, that's what they've been doing.

almost exhausted<g>,
