I recall reading an article about 10 or 15 years ago in which this subject was broached. Bottom line: Only province that the U.S. would be interested in annexing was British Columbia.

Servicing a sparsely populated country (remember, more people live within 100 miles of New York City than in all of Canada)would result in new sets of problems for the USA and likely higher taxes.

Only a matter of time before North America becomes five or six countries (or quasi-countries) as opposed to the present three.
