(i'm taking selected passages from the announcement) PREFERRED DRESS FOR THE DAY Men: dark blazer, dark tie, white shirt, white trousers, white shoes, yachting hat. Ladies: dark blazer, white shirt or slacks, white blouse, white shoes, yachting hat. Junior Boys and Girls: white trousers or skirt, white shoes, red jumper or pull over. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS: 1. when about 300 feet from flag ship, skipper to organize crew on deck in order of "increasing height" from bow - ladies first. 2. when about 100 feet from flag ship, skipper commands - SHIPS COMPANY - ATTENTION. 3. skipper steers to pass approximately 20 feet off Flag Ship on South side. 4. as bow comes into line with commodore's ensign, skipper only salutes if he/she is wearing a Yacht Cap and either lowers ensign or luffs jib. 5. as stern clears, skipper terminates hand salute and raises ensign or sheet the job. 6. skipper commands - SHIPS COMPANY - STAND EASY. 7. after saluting the flag ship ALL vessels maintain station in line astern and proceed to designated rendevous area and STAND CLEAR until the salute by the last sail boat. 8. the flag ship will then weigh anchor and proceed back to moorage on 'E' dock. 9. all vessels will follow the flag ship back to moorage in line astern. all this is followed by a docktail party and dinner at the marina club or BBQ on e-dock. wanna come??? <bfg> LOL, any wonder why some people get drunk and dance like nobody's watching at the commodore's ball. joser p.s. we always seem to be busy doing something else on that day <s>. haven't been to one yet.
