I share your nervousness. I have been buying cc's back on dips, got dpmi back today. I didn't write any on intc the last few months as I didn't feel it was volitile enough to get big swings. I also didn't want to lose any shares on a move up. Did a lot on amat, nvls, klac. Those are the only outstandings right now.

maui_dude:

I am a CC writer too, to generate extra cash. I've just about bought back all of my outstanding CC positions (I left a few to expire worthless in May). I agree that right now is not a good time to open new CC positions, as the chance is good your shares will get called away. If you have the stomach for it (and you're approved by your broker), now is a great time to write naked puts on some beat up tech stocks (Cisco, Sun, Oracle, JDS Uniphase, Lucent). When a short-term (or hopefully long-term) rally comes around, and it surely will, just buy back the puts, and write new CCs on your long-term holdings.
